Remembrance Day & the Patron Saint of soldiers. On Tuesday this week, we observed the century old tradition of pausing at the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11 month to commemorate Remembrance Day, the anniversary of the armistice that ended World War I. At each remembrance service the Ode of Remembrance is recited to commemorate those lost in war:
They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.
